I’ve got to say, it’s really fun to have friends for a couple of decades. To go from picking out doll clothes and swapping letters in the mail on kitty themed stationary, through father-daughter camping trips and overnights at each others houses and youth group to trips across states for graduations and weddings…and all these years and name-changes and kids later and we STILL like each other! 🙂 Haha. When Heather and Lindsey first mentioned making the trip to visit one weekend I wondered where in the world we’d put everyone in this little house of ours…their husbands wouldn’t be coming this time, but between the three of our families we have 6 (yes, 6!) kids under 4. Anyone who has been to our house knows, well, it’s a little square house with not a ton of space to begin with! But, I said “ABSOLUTELY!!!! COME!!” and vowed to find a place for everyone!
In the end, we kind of ate in shifts and there were pack and plays in every nook and cranny in our house – followed by a massive (strategic) switching of rooms for nap times during the day. But, when all was said and done and our thoroughly exhausted children were tucked in for the night after a day of playing and snacks and a trip to a local park, we sat outside listening to quiet baby monitors, eating apple pie by the light of the garage, and chatting as though it hadn’t been a couple of years but just a couple of days since we’d gotten together last.
Needless to say, it was a wonderful, wonderful weekend filled with tons of play time and sand and dirt and goldfish crackers and messy hands and faces – and dear friends. And I loved every minute of it.

See? Pack and plays everywhere. I should have taken pictures of them all through the house. 🙂 Ha!
The “Big Kid’s” table
And, before they left I had to snag a group shot (many thanks to Sam for taking this for us!)
And, who could resist putting all these cuties on a blanket together…
Check out Clara and Fletcher grinning at each other in this next one…
Oh how I wish we lived close enough that they got to do this all the time. What a great group of kids!
And, while we were at it I got some nice ones of Lindsey and her boys. . .
And Heather & Becket
And then passed the camera back to Sam, prayed our kids would stay on the blanket for .2 seconds, and got this one. I love these beautiful ladies. 🙂
